Founded in 2002 by Yoram Karmi, The Fresco Dance Company first took the stage as an independent dance group. Originally affiliated with the Choreographers’ Association, the umbrella organization for independent choreographers in Israel. Fresco has since grown into one of the leading forces in Israel’s contemporary dance scene.
Today, Fresco is based at Fresco Hub for Dance and Culture in Ramat Ha’Hayal, Tel Aviv.
At the heart of Fresco’s mission is a commitment to making the art of dance accessible to diverse audiences and students. Fresco seeks to enrich cultural dialogue and education throughout Israel, while promoting original Israeli dance works both locally and internationally. “Mixer”, a thrilling new arena-style production by Yoram Karmi for the whole family, “The Fisherman and the Goldfish”, “Peter and the Wolf”, and “Beauty and the Beast”, all of which continue touring nationwide.
