World Premiere by Mor Shani

About the work
A visual album set to the music of Henryk Górecki for eight dancers, dedicated to the hidden possibility of freedom within the collective obsession with order and replication.
This work offers an alternative to the compulsive reality that dominates our lives, leaving us stunned, bewildered, and perplexed; it is an invitation to move together in a way where the tension between history and utopia can transform into dance.
The piece allows the dancers creative freedom to bring forth their individuality and personal voice, creating a performance of events in an attempt to establish natural order within chaos.
The work acts as a microcosm of the current political and social reality, where people with free will find themselves living within social groups, operating according to societal codes, yet simultaneously able to choose not to follow them and to express their unique voice.
It reflects a period defined by the contrast between order and chaos, rules and conventions disrupted, and individuals searching for personal ways to express themselves, feel present, compete for attention, and continuously seek social validation.
