Our Classes
Pilates was developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates as a rehabilitation technique to strengthen the body and improve everyday functioning. Over the years, it has become a leading method in the world of movement and health. The principles of Pilates are based on precision, concentration, control, flow, and breathing, encouraging commitment to personal well-being.
Pilates exercises are performed on a mat and consist of a sequence of movements done lying down or standing, often incorporating supportive equipment such as resistance bands, rings, and balls. Pilates strengthens the core muscles, enhances breathing and postural organization, improves range of motion, and increases body awareness. Many practitioners report reduced pain, tension release, and a renewed sense of vitality after practice. Pilates is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels, including pregnant women, postnatal recovery, injury rehabilitation, and as support for other sports.
Hatha Yoga originated in India hundreds of years ago as a practice combining body, breath, and mind to promote overall health and inner balance. The term comes from Sanskrit: Ha = sun, warming energy; Tha = moon, cooling energy—together representing the pursuit of balance. Hatha Yoga focuses on holding various postures, mindful breathing, internal focus, and balancing effort with relaxation. Practiced on a mat at a moderate pace, it provides a deep connection between breath and movement, encourages self-reflection, improves flexibility, regulates breathing, enhances concentration, and calms the nervous system. Hatha Yoga is suitable for all ages and levels and is recommended as an introduction to yoga.
Vinyasa Yoga evolved from the classical yoga tradition and developed in the 20th century as a dynamic practice connecting breath with continuous movement. Today it is one of the most popular styles. The Sanskrit term Vinyasa means “conscious sequencing” or “precise transitions between poses.” Vinyasa emphasizes synchronizing breath with movement, flowing smoothly between postures, stability, and self-awareness. Classes are conducted on a mat at a moderate to medium pace, combining variable sequences of postures that progress through gradual warm-up, dynamic practice, and relaxation. Vinyasa Yoga is a flowing, active practice that builds strength and flexibility, improves posture and breathing, and fosters a sense of physical energy. It is suitable for all ages and levels, particularly for practitioners seeking a dynamic yoga experience.
